What is Hand Dermatitis
Hand dermatitis is a skin condition. It causes small, itchy, raised dots or fluid-filled blisters to form on the palms of the hands. This condition may also be called hand eczema.
Follow these instructions at home:
- Take or apply over-the-counter and prescription medicines only as told by your doctor.
- If you were prescribed an antibiotic medicine, use it as told by your doctor. Do not stop using the antibiotic even if you start to feel better.
- Avoid washing your hands more often than you need to.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals on your hands.
- Wear gloves that protect your hands when you handle products that can bother (irritate) your skin.
- Keep all follow-up visits as told by your doctor. This is important.
Contact a doctor if:
- Your rash is not better after one week of treatment.
- Your rash is red.
- Your rash is tender.
- Your rash has pus coming from it.
- Your rash spreads.
