Does breast MRI have to be performed with contrast material?

Currently, all breast MRI is performed with intravenous contrast material unless the indication is only to evaluate for breast implant rupture. Examination techniques, such as diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), are being developed to screen for malignancy without use of a contrast agent
