Do hypnagogic hallucinations occur during REM sleep?
No. Hypnagogic hallucinations occur during sleep–wake transitions (either when falling asleep or during arousals) and can involve various sensory modalities (most commonly visual).
Although this entity is typically observed in association with narcolepsy, it occasionally occurs in normal individuals.
