Different ways to form a Simmons catheter

What are the different ways to form a Simmons catheter?

One way is first to place a wire over the aortic bifurcation and then form the catheter by placing the tip over the bifurcation and pushing up. The catheter may also be formed in the thoracic aorta where the diameter is sufficiently large. A technique commonly used at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania involves anchoring a suture with a wire in the tip of the catheter. The loop is formed by gently pulling on the string while advancing the catheter.
