CT and MRI features of desmoid tumors

What are the CT and MRI features of desmoid tumors?

One or more well-circumscribed or infiltrative enhancing masses with soft tissue attenuation and low-intermediate signal intensity on T1-weighted and T2-weighted images are seen.

High signal intensity on T2-weighted images may sometimes be seen in immature lesions with higher cellularity and less mature fibrosis.

Associated findings of bowel or ureteral obstruction may be present as well.

Occasionally, mesenteric desmoid tumors form a fistula with a bowel loop, where gas, fluid, or oral contrast material may be seen within the mass centrally.
