How should patients on Glucocorticoids be monitored?
Patients starting GC therapy (prednisone dose > 2.5–5 mg/day or equivalent) with a planned duration of treatment >3 months or on existing treatment for >3 months should have their BMD tested and FRAX score calculated at the start of therapy and preferably every 12 months as long as GC therapy is continued.
