Gerstmanns Syndrome

What are the features of Gerstmanns syndrome and where is the lesion responsible for it? 

Gerstmanns syndrome is characterized by four primary symptoms: acalculia, agraphia or dysgraphia, an inability to identify fingers (finger agnosia), and right–left confusion.

These occur in the absence of additional language deficits. 

The underlying lesion includes the angular gyrus in the dominant hemisphere.

A pure Gerstmanns syndrome is rare: more commonly, it is associated with aphasia and/or other parietal lobe symptoms.
