Where does cranial nerve 3 exit the brain stem?
Cranial nerve 3, the oculomotor nerve, exits the brain stem medially from the midbrain between the posterior cerebral artery and the superior cerebellar artery.
This is important because the nerve can be affected by aneurysms of these arteries.
