Shift work disorder

What is shift work disorder? 

Shift work disorder is characterized by either insomnia or excessive daytime sleepiness that occurs in association with work hours that occur during the usual sleep time of that individual.

The symptoms are usually present for at least 3 months or more.

The disorder is closely linked to work schedules and typically resolves when the major sleep episode is scheduled at a conventional time.
