What is the red nucleus?
Red nucleus is a globular mass located in the ventral portion of the tegmentum of the midbrain.
It is a relay center for many of the efferent cerebellar tracts.
The crossed fibers of the superior cerebellar peduncle (SCP) pass through and around its edges.
