Is treatment of EBV with antiviral therapies beneficial for PTLD?
Despite their widespread use, there is currently no evidence that any antiviral therapy is efficacious for the treatment of PTLD. Given the lack of evidence-based support for antiviral therapies, they are not recommended as a sole treatment. The use of antivirals to reduce the incidence of PTLD following transplantation has not been validated.
