How are CT and MR angiographic images visualized

How are CT and MR angiographic images visualized?

To diagnose vessel pathology, an image is created in a plane that allows the long axis of the vessel to be viewed. To view vessels in this perspective, images are transferred to a dedicated 3D workstation where the physician or a specially trained technologist performs reconstructions. There are several modes of image presentation that may be utilized for CTA and MRA, including multiplanar reformation (MPR), curved MPR, maximum intensity projection (MIP), surface-shaded display (SSD), and volume rendering (VR).
