This mnemonic derives from five of the following clinical manifestations:
• Hypertension
• Headache
• Hyperhidrosis
• Hyperglycemia
• Hypermetabolism
A large French series suggested that hypertension, headache, and hyperhydrosis are present in 95% of cases diagnosed in that country.
