Findings reflecting the systemic inflammatory process (normochromic normocytic anemia, thrombocytosis, increased gamma globulins) are common. Liver enzyme abnormalities may be seen in up to one-third of patients; an increased alkaline phosphatase level is most common.

Renal function, urinalysis, serum creatine kinase level, antinuclear antibodies, RF, and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies are normal or negative.
