Commonly encountered lab abnormalities in Polymyalgia Rheumatica
Findings reflecting the systemic inflammatory process (normochromic normocytic anemia, thrombocytosis, increased gamma globulins) are common. Liver enzyme abnormalities may be seen in up to one-third of patients; an increased alkaline phosphatase level is most common.
Renal function, urinalysis, serum creatine kinase level, antinuclear antibodies, RF, and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies are normal or negative.
