Clinical presentation of nephrotic syndrome
What is the clinical presentation of patients with nephrotic syndrome?
The most common presenting complaint for patients with nephrotic syndrome is edema.
It usually involves the lower extremities in adults because they are more sedentary.
While children also have pedal edema, it tends to be less severe because of increased physical activity.
Periorbital edema and ascites occur in all age groups. The edema is symmetric and painless.
