What is the anal wink?
Anal wink is a reflex that tests the integrity of S2 to S5 segments.
The anal wink reflex is tested by pricking the skin of the perianal region and watching for the external anal sphincter to contract.
The absence of this contraction signifies a lesion in the sacral region.
