What are Adhesions
Adhesions are strings of tissue that form inside your body. Adhesions are sticky. They can stick to organs and tissues and pull them out of place. They can also keep food and other things from moving through the body normally.
Follow these instructions at home:
- Take over-the-counter and prescription medicines only as told by your doctor.
- Take your antibiotic medicine as told by your doctor. Do notstop taking the antibiotic even if you start to feel better.
- Follow any diet instructions your doctor gives you. Your doctor may tell you to eat liquid diet or low-fiber diet.
- Keep all follow-up visits as told by your doctor. This is important.
Contact a doctor if:
- You have a fever.
- You have pain in your belly or pelvis.
- You vomit.
- You are bloated.
- Your belly swells.
- Your gut (bowel) makes loud sounds.
- You are having trouble pooping (constipation).
Get help right away if:
- You have very bad pain in your belly or pelvis that gets worse.
- You keep vomiting.
- You cannot fart (pass gas).
- You cannot poop.
