What is Ioxaglate Meglumine and Ioxaglate Sodium
Ioxaglate Meglumine and Ioxaglate Sodium is an iodinated, ionic radiographic contrast agent indicated for pediatric angiocardiography, selective coronary arteriography with and without left ventriculography, peripheral arteriography, aortography, selective visceral arteriography, cerebral angiography, intravenous and intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography, peripheral venography, excretory urography, contrast enhancement of computed tomography (CT) head and body images, arthrography, and hysterosalpingography.
Avoid inadvertent intrathecal administration as this can result in serious adverse events, including death.
Serious and potentially fatal adverse events (i.e., cardiovascular toxicities, hypersensitivity reactions, severe cutaneous adverse reactions, acute renal failure) may also occur during intravascular use.
To minimize the toxicity risk, ensure the patients are adequately hydrated and use the smallest necessary volume and concentration of ioxaglate meglumine; ioxaglate sodium.
