What is Ferric Derisomaltose
Ferric derisomaltose is a parenteral iron replacement product indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency in adults who have an intolerance or unsatisfactory response to oral iron or who have non-hemodialysis dependent chronic kidney disease.
Ferric derisomaltose was shown to be noninferior to IV iron sucrose for change in hemoglobin from baseline to week 8 in 2 clinical trials. Like other parenteral iron products, hypersensitivity may also occur with ferric derisomaltose; serious and fatal anaphylactic reactions have been reported.
