Brentuximab vedotin Brand Name– ADCETRIS
What is Brentuximab vedotin
Brentuximab vedotin is an antibody-drug conjugate that targets CD30, a protein expressed on the surface of certain cancer cells.
It is indicated as a single-agent for consolidation therapy in adult patients with high-risk classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) and for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed cHL, relapsed systemic anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (sALCL), or relapsed primary cutaneous anaplastic large-cell lymphoma or CD30-expressing mycosis fungoides.
Additionally, brentuximab vedotin is indicated in combination with doxorubicin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine in adults with previously untreated stage III or IV cHL and in combination with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisone in adults with previously untreated sALCL or other CD30-expressing peripheral T-cell lymphomas.
JC virus infection resulting in progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and death has been reported in patients who received brentuximab vedotin therapy.
