X ray findings of transient tachypnea of the newborn
What is the mechanism behind TTN, and how does it appear radiographically?
TTN occurs when amniotic fluid is not fully removed from the lungs during delivery and is more commonly encountered in infants delivered by cesarean section compared to vaginal delivery. Radiographically, TTN appears with increased interstitial markings and pleural effusions which resolve within 2 days.
