What is the role of glatiramer acetate (Copaxone) for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.
Copaxone is a synthetic polypeptide resembling a fragment of the myelin basic protein molecule, and it may work by preventing activation and differentiation of myelin-targeting T cells.
It has few systemic side effects, and the daily subcutaneous injections are usually well tolerated.
