What is Rinnes test?
A vibrating tuning fork is placed on the mastoid bone; when the patient can no longer hear it, it is removed and placed next to the ear.
Thus, bone conduction is compared with air conduction.
In conduction deafness, bone is greater than air conduction. In sensorineural deafness, air is greater than bone conduction.
