Prognosis is guarded.

Relapses are common (33%), especially if PR3-ANCA-positive.

At least 20% end up on dialysis. Pulmonary hemorrhage can be life-threatening. Overall, the 5-year survival rate is 70% to 75%.

This may be improved with newer protocols for therapy.
