What is Obstructive Acute Kidney Injury?
Obstructive Acute Kidney Injury (post renal Acute Kidney Injury) results from blocked urine flow at the level of the ureters (upper tract) or the bladder outlet or urethra.
For upper tract obstruction to cause Acute Kidney Injury, the obstruction must either be bilateral, or be unilateral with an absent or nonfunctional contralateral kidney.
