Limbic encephalitis

What is limbic encephalitis?

Several antibodies such as anti-Hu, anti-Ma2, voltage-gated potassium channel antibodies, and -methyl- d -aspartate receptor antibodies involve the limbic system and cause symptoms such as hallucinations, short-term memory loss, seizures, and mood changes.

Some patients may manifest autonomic instability symptoms such as episodic mydriasis, tachycardia, diaphoresis, and hypertension.
