Should there be routine screening for Chronic kidney disease?
Guidelines recommend targeted screening versus mass screening for Chronic kidney disease.
The American College of Physicians recommends against screening low-risk patients.
High-risk groups, as defined in question 15, should be screened on a regular basis especially those with hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, structural disorders of the urinary tract, a familial history of kidney failure, those recovering from AKI, and those with proteinuria or hematuria discovered serendipitously.
