Features of Huntingtons dementia

What are the clinical features of Huntington’s dementia?

Psychiatric symptoms or dementia may occur before or after the features of Huntington’s disease (e.g., chorea) are well established. Psychiatric features include personality changes, depression, and psychosis.

The memory disorder is typically of the subcortical pattern.

Language and speech disorders, including dysarthria, reduced spontaneous speech, impaired syntactic complexity, and impaired comprehension, are common, as are visuospatial abnormalities.
