What is an extension teardrop fracture, and how does it differ from the flexion teardrop fracture?
Similar to the flexion teardrop fracture, an extension teardrop fracture also shows an anterior-inferior fracture fragment on the lateral radiograph. However, this is an avulsion fracture attached to the anterior longitudinal ligament caused by a hyperextension injury.
