Do plasmacytomas involve the kidneys?
Plasmacytomas are solitary lesions of clonal plasma cells in bone or soft tissues (especially the upper respiratory tract) without plasma cell involvement of the bone marrow or any other features of myeloma.
Approximately 50% have a small monoclonal serum protein.
They do not involve the kidneys, although they can progress to myeloma.
Elevated sFLC ratio at diagnosis is associated with a higher risk of progression.
