Clinical manifestations of cholesterol emboli

What are the clinical manifestations of cholesterol emboli?

Patients will have progressive and often irreversible loss of kidney function after an intra-arterial procedure (over days and weeks), which often does not improve.

Livedo reticularis, low complement levels, peripheral and or urinary eosinophilia, and physical findings of distal emboli (in the digits or retina) may be seen.
