Can a glioblastoma be treated with surgery alone?
No, unfortunately, even when a glioblastoma has been completely resected there are microscopic cells that are infiltrative and intermixed with the normal brain that remain requiring treatment.
However, studies have shown that prognosis improves with a gross total resection of the imaged enhancement.
