What is ApoE? What is its importance?
ApoE is a cholesterol-carrying blood protein that comes in three forms:
- ApoE2,
- E3, and
- E4
We inherit one ApoE allele from each parent, and people with one or more E4 alleles have an increased risk for developing Alzheimers Disease.
